Signatures & company stamps
Capture personal signatures and attach a company rubber stamp or corporate seal on the same signing action.
Signatures & company stamps
Crove supports four ways to capture a personal signature plus an optional company stamp that's attached to the same signing action. The stamp is distinct from the signature — common in India, Japan, China, and most of MENA, where a corporate seal accompanies (rather than replaces) a signatory's personal mark.
Personal signature modes
When a respondent reaches a signature field on the fill page they see four tabs:
| Mode | Best for |
|---|---|
| Draw | Mouse / trackpad / touchscreen signers. Renders a smoothed ink stroke. |
| Type | Quickly type a name and pick a script font. The typed name is preserved on the audit record separately from the rendered image. |
| Upload | Signer already has a signature file (.png, .jpg, .svg). |
| Initials | 2–4 character initials rendered in Caveat script. Useful next to "initial each page" prompts. |
Admins can turn individual modes on or off at Settings → Signatures. Requiring at least one is enforced server-side.
Company stamp (optional, alongside)
A signer can attach a company stamp on any of the four signature modes — the stamp never replaces the personal signature. A section beneath the signature tabs exposes:
- Use workspace stamp — one-click attach of the default stamp configured at Settings → Signatures → Company stamp. Only appears when an admin has uploaded one.
- Upload stamp — file picker for signers who don't use the workspace default. Transparent PNG works best.
The stamp image is stored alongside the signature on the audit record and rendered next to the personal signature on the signed PDF.
When to use it
Use the company stamp when:
- Your jurisdiction requires or customarily expects a corporate seal (IN, JP, CN, ID, MENA).
- You want to distinguish a board-authorised signing from a personal representative's mark.
- You need to clearly mark a particular copy as "company-authorised" vs "for personal reference".
Skip it for straightforward personal signatures (employment offers, personal NDAs, etc.) where a stamp would feel out of place.
What's on the audit trail
Every capture records:
- The signature image (what the signer produced)
- The company stamp image (if attached)
- Signature type — draw / type / upload / initials
- Typed name (type mode only)
- IP address and user agent at time of signing
- Consent timestamp
View the full log for a document at Documents → Open document → Signatures tab.
Administering the workspace stamp
At Settings → Signatures:
- Scroll to Company stamp (optional)
- Click Upload stamp and pick a PNG / JPG / SVG (max 2MB)
- The preview shows the uploaded image; signers from your workspace will see a Use workspace stamp shortcut on every signature pad
Admins and owners can replace or remove the stamp at any time. Removing it doesn't affect any already-signed documents — those retain the exact stamp image that was attached at signing time.
